The Blue Economy development approach is an integral part of the African Agenda 2063. African member states are formulating Blue Economy strategies to diversify their economic base and catalyse socio-economic transformation. Africa is developing fast and is showing some impressive progress. Over the past decade, Africa has recorded an average of 4 to 5 percent growth in GDP. Six of the world’s ten fastest-growing economies are in Africa.

Dr. Francis Onditi, Head of Department,  School of International Relations and Diplomacy, Riara University, Kenya

He is also a Strategy Consultant, mainly with Intergovernmental Organizations, including EAC on state relations, Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution (CMR), and civil-military relations. He has led global research teams leading to the development of books, policy briefs and scholarly publications, including, co-edited edition, Blue Economy Frontiers (forth-coming 2020)
